The Rite of Spring
March in the shady woodland of Beth Chatto's garden. As the light returns, and before the tree canopy becomes dense with fresh leaves, the woodland floor is punctuated with bright puddles of colour. Narcissus, hellebores, mounds of Cardamine quinquefolia, primrose and the last few fading snowdrops.
